Patrimonia 2025, with Pledger

Lyon. The annual gathering of wealth-management advisors, and a good test of what distribution will actually sell.

1 min read

Patrimonia brings French wealth-management advisors together in Lyon every year. We were there alongside Pledger, a portfolio company that offers credit backed by the client's existing savings, without liquidating them.

Why this trade show is a good test

A wealth advisor only sells what they can explain in ten minutes and defend in front of a client three years later. That is a far more demanding filter than a product demo: a proposition that fails this test will not be distributed, whatever its technical quality.

For a portfolio company, two days at Patrimonia are worth several months of market research. Objections are stated directly, by people who have no reason to be polite.

What we take away

Demand for liquidity solutions without a tax-triggering switch is real and underserved. The difficulty is not market appetite but pedagogy: the product must be understood by the advisor before it can be explained to the client, and that is where distribution is won or lost.

That is exactly the kind of constraint that portfolio follow-up must take on, not by supplying a brochure, but by working the sales narrative with the team.
