The French company Ledger, recognised worldwide for its cryptocurrency security solutions, is considering an initial public offering (IPO) on the US market, potentially as early as 2026, at a valuation that could exceed $4 billion.

A strategic IPO in New York

Ledger, a company founded in 2014 in Paris, has established itself as a global leader in the manufacture of hardware wallets that secure digital assets offline. Today, the company is working on a listing on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), seen as a major springboard toward international financial markets.

According to available information, Goldman Sachs, Jefferies and Barclays have been mandated to support Ledger in this IPO project, which could materialise this year if market conditions remain favourable.

A sharply rising valuation

At its last funding round in 2023, Ledger was valued at around $1.5 billion. The ambition today is to more than triple that valuation, which reflects the confidence of financial players in the company's business model and in the growth of the cryptocurrency security sector.

This projection of more than $4 billion rests on a positive dynamic: demand for secure storage solutions is rising in the face of the increase in cyberattacks and crypto thefts, pushing many individual and institutional investors toward devices such as those offered by Ledger.

A market context favourable to crypto IPOs

The choice of the United States for an IPO is not incidental. The US market has recently shown a renewed appetite for IPOs of crypto-related companies. For example, the digital-asset custody platform BitGo recently made its debut on the New York Stock Exchange at a considerable valuation, which has revived investor interest in this type of asset.

Ledger could thus become one of the first French crypto unicorns to list on Wall Street, strengthening the company's international visibility and facilitating access to substantial capital to fund its future growth.

Toward a new stage for French crypto

If it materialises, this IPO would mark a strategic turning point for Ledger, which could benefit from a more liquid market and a broader base of institutional investors. This project also illustrates the rise of European companies in the global crypto ecosystem, even though capital for this sector is today concentrated mainly in the United States.
