The aim of Mon Petit Placement is to make premium financial investment accessible to individuals. This new round of financing aims to make the start-up a key player in its ecosystem.
Lyon, 16 November 2021 - 18 months after the launch of its commercial offer, the Lyon-based fintech Mon Petit Placement has closed a €6 million fundraising round, with the participation of the French Tech Seed fund managed on behalf of the French government by Bpifrance as part of the Future Investment Programme, Insurtech Capital, Weaving Invest, Aonia Ventures and French Founders. All of the start-up's historical investors are also participating in this round of financing.
With this new fundraising round, Mon Petit Placement intends to pursue and boost its growth dynamic, through:
- The structuring of its teams; the fintech plans to double its workforce by 2022, in particular through the recruitment of senior profiles;
- The diversification of its financial product offering, in particular with the development of its own Mon Petit Placement portfolio.
- The strengthening of its community vector, to ensure that the investment experience is always at the heart of the company's added value, in particular through the development of new functionalities within its new mobile application; and
- The ongoing industrialization of its R&D developments, particularly those based on AI technology (automated video generation, decision support tools for advisers, etc.).
Mon Petit Placement aspires to become France’s leading investment company for individuals.
"This fundraising is another step for Mon Petit Placement in its desire to democratize financial investment among individuals," explains Thomas Perret, founder of Mon Petit Placement. "Our ambition is to help French people turn from savers to investors by offering them personalized support, top-of-the-range products and the possibility of making their money grow while supporting causes that are close to their hearts. We combine the best of both worlds in a single, user-friendly service: the proximity usually offered by traditional banks and the agility of pure players, all supported by highly innovative technological tools.”
"After supporting Mon Petit Placement with convertible bonds as part of the French Tech Seed scheme, with the support of the Pouss@lys consortium, Bpifrance is proud to support its commercial acceleration and the continuation of its technological innovations. We were particularly impressed by the unique user experience offered by the investment platform and the personalised support package combining proximity and education," emphasizes Emmanuel Audouard, Director of the Transversal Venture Capital Investment Division at Bpifrance.
"We are delighted to participate in this round of financing. Our objective alongside Mon Petit Placement is twofold: first, to support the company's growth, in particular through its partnership with APICIL Group; second, to develop its direct investment offer but also the measurement of impact investing," adds Minh Q. TRAN, Managing Partner of Insurtech Capital managed by Mandalore Partners.
Mon Petit Placement: democratising investment for individuals
Founded by Thomas Perret, Margaux Belhade and Thibault Jaillon in 2017, Mon Petit Placement makes financial investment more accessible to individuals. With its low entry fee (only €300), it gives its users access to high-end financial products, previously reserved for wealthy clients. It also provides them with personalised support in their investment strategy by offering four portfolios adapted to their risk profile (Voluntary, Energetic, Ambitious, Fearless).
Mon Petit Placement also launched a responsible offer allowing savers to invest, diversify and boost their capital while having a positive impact (Equality, Employment, Climate, Solidarity, Tech, Health portfolios). This offer has since been supplemented by a "Revival" portfolio aimed at giving everyone the opportunity to actively support the economy following the health crisis. Finally, the fintech recently launched its mobile application, allowing users to easily track the evolution of their investment.
The innovative concept of Mon Petit Placement has attracted more than 8,000 customers since its commercial launch in February 2020, with a total amount under management of almost €30m. The project has also met with the support of leading partners in the financial sector, including APICIL and GENERALI, and more recently numerous French fintechs including Bankin' and Lydia.
At the same time, Mon Petit Placement has structured its teams, increasing from 25 to 40 employees in 2021. The staff will be based at its new headquarters in the Brotteaux district of Lyon, which covers 400m2 and into which the start-up moved during the summer.
